Mare Dibaba

Mare Dibaba Hurrsa (born 20 October 1989) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner. She is the reigning world champion in the marathon, having won the 2015 World Championships in Athletics in Beijing. In 2014, she won the Bank of America Chicago Marathon with a time of 2:25:37 hours. The win was announced 30 January 2015, as Rita Jeptoo was suspended retroactively for an EPO positive drug test to 25 September 2014, which would have made her ineligible for the Chicago Marathon that she finished first.
In 2015 she won the marathon at the World Championships in Beijing.
